Study Marathon
Trying to study, but getting pulled in every direction?
Commit to a full day of study without ending it completely wrecked. This Burst breaks the day into realistic study sessions, with a walk, a mindful lunch and a few off-screen resets in between, so you can keep focusing without burning yourself out.
The runsheet

Start with an intention
Intention settingBefore you open a single tab, write down one intention for today and the exact point where you'll stop. if you want, put your phone in another room or on DND.
10 min activityBearmore’s thoughts on doing intention setting before break
This is an excellent pairing because pausing afterwards lets the mind settle, so intentions can stay fresh in your mind a little longer.
BreakStudy sprint one
50 minStraight into the worst task first, while you're freshest. Fifty minutes is the default session duration, but set it to how you best work.
Bearmore’s thoughts on doing break before breath work
This works well because starting from a relaxed state can make breath work feel more natural and less effortful.

Intentional breathing for five minutes
Breath workSit up tall, drop your shoulders and take a few slow breaths. A short reset now might ease up any tension you’ve already taken on.
5 min activityBearmore’s thoughts on doing breath work before break
This pairing is especially effective because structured breathing changes your nervous system response, and a quiet break lets those changes lock in without new demands.
BreakStudy sprint two
50 minBack in for the second block. If the first sprint went long or you stopped it short, start this one anyway; momentum matters more than a perfect schedule.
Bearmore’s thoughts on doing break before listening to music (mindful)
This can be a good pairing because the relaxed state from a break makes you more receptive to really listening and appreciating music.

Ten minutes with music
Listening to music (mindful)Two sprints down. Step away from the desk, put headphones on and listen to one piece of music with your eyes closed and nothing else running. It can resets a heavy morning far better than a scroll would, and if you can do it outside in the garden or balcony.
10 min activityBearmore’s thoughts on doing listening to music (mindful) before break
This works well because a break afterwards lets you rest while appreciating any positive feelings the music created.
BreakStudy sprint three
50 minThe last block before lunch. Push through it.
Bearmore’s thoughts on doing break before being in nature
This is a strong combination because moving from rest into nature deepens restoration and extends a sense of calm.

Get outside and walk
Being in natureOut the door, no headphones, and let the morning fall away. Walk at an easy pace and enjoy whatever the weather.
20 min activityBearmore’s thoughts on doing being in nature before eating (mindful)
This can be a good pairing because mindful eating continues the grounded feeling from outside, especially when using fresh ingredients.

A mindful lunch
Eating (mindful)Sit down to a meal, away from the desk and the notes. A clean break will give you a great start into the afternoon.
20 min activityBearmore’s thoughts on doing eating (mindful) before break
This works well because a break gives the body time to digest while you rest in the satisfaction of nourishing yourself.
BreakStudy sprint four
50 minThis block might be one of the harder ones but manage it in the best way you can.
Bearmore’s thoughts on doing break before breath work
This works well because starting from a relaxed state can make breath work feel more natural and less effortful.

Another five minutes for intentional breathing
Breath workSame as this morning: shoulders down, eyes off the screen, a handful of controlled breaths.
5 min activityBearmore’s thoughts on doing breath work before break
This pairing is especially effective because structured breathing changes your nervous system response, and a quiet break lets those changes lock in without new demands.
BreakThe closing sprint
50 minThis is your last block so give it your best and finish the day proud of what you have done.
Bearmore’s thoughts on doing break before body scan
This pairing is especially effective because a pause lowers baseline tension, so a scan starts on a calmer base and can pick up finer detail.

Time to lie down for a body scan
Body scanLie down somewhere comfortable and let a guide walk you through this body scan. A big mental day can leave a hum behind, and it's better switched off here than taken into the evening with you.
25 min activityTime well spent.
6h 11m spent doing something good for yourself.

About this Burst
Built for exam blocks, thesis pushes and any day that has to produce focus. This Burst borrows from how the best study-with-me marathons are run: work in sprints, with movement, food and short off-screen resets placed around the moments when energy is likely to dip. The study blocks are yours, so set the durations to what suits you, and treat the resets as part of the work rather than time away from it. The aim is a day of focus you'd willingly repeat, not one you need days to recover from.
