Watson says she has "a bath every single day of my life" and that "nothing terrible is going to happen in the bath." Run it warm, add salts if you have them, phone in another room. Fifteen minutes still counts if that is all you can spare.

    Journaling

Watson keeps a daily journal, writing three joyful things, three acts of kindness she was part of, and three things she did well. Once you are dry and warm, take those prompts and write what you feel about them. Keep it small; a few lines each is plenty.

    Reading (mindful)

Watson has described coming to mindfulness "in a literary way through reading books," naming titles like Walden. Bring something you want to sink into, not to have to finish. Read slowly, in or beside the bath.
